Eight year old Oliver Lynch from Ballincollig has been named as an AXA Community Hero.

Oliver, who has Cerebral Palsy, was selected for his work in raising €30,000 for charities by walking 5km over 50 days.

He was announced as a winner during last night's Late Late Show on RTE One.

He adds the accolade to a letter received from the President last year which acknowledged his extraordinary work.
