Met Eireann has four separate wind warnings in place for eight counties.
The status yellow alerts include Cork, Kerry and Waterford..
Cork and Waterford have a wind warning in place until 2pm ,Kerry until midday.
Gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour are expected and there is also a risk of coastal flooding.
Strong winds will impact different parts of the country throughout the day.
Some debris is being reported on Cork roads owing to strong winds.
