A status yellow rainfall warning is in place for 13 counties across the country.
The counties under the warning include Cork , Limerick , Clare and Tipperary , all of Connacht as well as Longford, Offaly and Westmeath.
Met Eireann is forecasting heavy rain in those areas, and has warned of a risk of flooding until midnight tonight.
Local spot flooding is also expected across Cork.
