
Two Local Electoral Areas in Cork County are showing Covid figures which are above the national 14 day incidence rate.
The figure for the two weeks up to March 14th was 1,188 and both Cobh and Skibbereen LEA's were higher.
All of the Cork City LEA's are below the national figure which is based on the results of PCR tests for a fortnight from the beginning of the month.
The Chief Medical Officer has told the Government that there is no need to reintroduce Covid restrictions despite case numbers being above 20,000 in recent days and hospitalisations rising.
The HSE's Chief Clinical Officer says the high infection rates are causing serious disruption to the health system.
