A gathering in solidarity with the Piper family to return the Showman's Wagon to Short Quay and the return of the funfair to the town park will take place in Kinsale next Sunday at 3 o'clock.
Locals say they want the funfair restored without increased rents being incurred by the Pipers.
Rent increases will make the running of the business in Kinsale uneconomical according to Pipers.
The Living Wagon and the `Merries` have been a part of Kinsale since 1932 and a local petition has gathered 2000 signatures for their continued presence in the town.
Cork County Council says the rent it discussed with Pipers supports the services which are available to the public who visit the funfair..
It says the proposed rent this year is nominal compared to commercial charges in the town.
The issue around the Showman's Wagon on Short Quay was subject to the legal process over the right to occupy a public area and the owner removed it on a voluntary basis according to Cork County Council.
