Strict new measures to stop the spread of coronavirus

The Taoiseach has announced that everybody must stay at home for a two week period until Easter Sunday.

The measures are to come into effect from midnight(Fri)

Leo Varadkar said that transmission within the community now accounts for more than half of all 2,121 confirmed cases here and there is an increasing number of clusters of infections around the country.

He also confirmed that a healthcare worker is one of the 22 fatalities. 
 

 

The full list of essential workers will be published as early as possible today.(Sat)


In the interim, the Government advice for businesses and services which consider themselves essential service, is to remain open, pending publication of the list.
