Met Eireann is advising people to take extra care, as very wet and windy weather continues.
The yellow alert is in effect until 9pm with heavy rain and spot flooding in places.
Stormy conditions with thunderstorms and hail showers are also forecast.
Meteorologist with Met Eireann Siobhan Ryan says all areas are affected:
A number of Ryanair flights due into Cork Airport today were diverted.
The affected flights were coming from Alicante, Edinburgh, London and Malaga.
