A man was rescued after becoming trapped at the bottom of a cliff in Garrettstown last evening.
Gardai,the Coast Guard and other emergency services assisted in the rescue of a man in his 70`s who got into difficulty while trying to rescue his dog.
The dog had fallen from the cliff and his owner was cut off by the tide.
The man was brought to safety unharmed but the dog had not been located as darkness fell.
