Engineers are hoping to dismantle the first section of Cork`s Shakey Bridge today.(Wed)
Works began yesterday with steel cables disconnected from the deck.
The bridge will be dismantled in four parts and each section will be dropped onto a barge before being taken to a warehouse on flatbed trucks.
The 1.7 million euro repair and restoration project is expected to be finished by next Easter.
