In-person events are getting underway as part of the process.

People are being encouraged to have their say on the multimillion euro Cork Luas project.

The emerging route has been launched and a public consultation is underway.

It will continue until June 9th online and at a number of events in Cork.

These get underway today at the Kingsley Hotel, Victoria Cross from midday until 8pm.

Social Democrats TD Pádraig Rice has today encouraged people to make their opinions on the project heard.

“As a public representative, it is my job to make sure the voices of the people I represent are heard. The Cork Luas is a vital project for Cork, and it is really important that everyone can have their say on the proposed route.

“The consultation period is now open and closes on Monday June 9th at 5:30pm. I would strongly encourage people to have their say by registering on the portal and making a submission at Luascork.ie

“This project has the potential to transform Cork, and the more people’s ideas and concerns are considered, the better.

“I will be campaigning over the next few years to ensure this project is delivered, part of that is ensuring everyone’s opinions are heard.

“As of now we don’t know how much the Luas will cost or when it will open but these are the questions I’ll keep asking.

There are several upcoming opportunities to meet and interact with the team behind the project.
