
The demand for hospital beds in Cork has eased for a third day this week according to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
The number of patients waiting on trolleys in hospitals around the country has also dropped.
There are 54 patients on trolleys in Cork hospitals which is down from yesterdays figure of 67.
According to the INMO there are 28 patients at Cork University Hospital,24 at the Mercy and 2 at Bantry General Hospital.
440 patients are on trolleys in hospitals around the country.
University Hospital Limerick still has the highest figure nationally with 50 patients awaiting a bed.
