Save Our Skibbereen has been informed that RTP Company T/A Daly Prodcuts Ltd. has withdrawn the controversial planning application for a plastics factory.
The campaign group says there is no live application now and that the case is closed.
The chair of Save Our Skibbereen was notified of the developments by An Bord Pleanala.
The decision has been described locally in Skibbereen as a brilliant example of people power.
Save Our Skibbereen says the campaign has been successful in ways they never could have imagined when they started.
