
C103 GAA commentator Paudie Palmer remains in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital.
A 32-year-old man was being questioned at Bandon Garda Station about a hit and run in West Cork, which has left a 65-year-old man in a critical condition in hospital.
The incident happened at Dunkereen Cross near Innishannon on December 29th at about 9.45am.
The injured man, C103's GAA commentator Paudie Palmer was driving through the crossroads at the time.
His car was hit by another vehicle and pushed on to an embankment before turning over on its side.
Mr Palmer was treated at the scene before being removed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
He remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Gardai carried out a technical examination at the scene and also checked CCTV footage in the area before tracing a car to a house near Ballinhassig where a man was arrested.
He has since been charged and will appear in court in Bandon this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
