A man is due in court charged in connection with aggravated burglary and false imprisonment in Carrigaline yesterday morning.
The man in his 20s broke into a house where he held a woman captive and threatened her with a kitchen knife.
He left the house after two hours and was arrested by Gardaí - the woman was not injured in the incident.
The man is due before a special sitting of Cork District Court.
