UPDATE: Two accused found guilty of the murder of Kieran Quilligan

Both had pleaded not guilty to murder.

On Thursday, the jury found 33-year-old Niall Long, of St Michael’s Close, Mahon, guilty of the murder of 47-year-old Kieran Quilligan.

28-year-old Luke Taylor, formerly of Cherry Lawn, Blackrock, who had also pleaded NOT guilty to murder was found guilty after they resumed deliberations this morning.(Fri)

Ms Justice Siobhan Lankford set sentencing for both men for Wednesday the 29th of October. 

Kieran Quilligan was last seen alive in Cork city on the 1st of September 2023. 

His skeletal remains were discovered in a gravel bag in an area of scrubland in East Cork four months later.
