Incident at Janssen Sciences in Cork

Two people were taken to hospital following an incident at the facility in Ringaskiddy.

Emergency services received a call just after 5.30 this evening to say 3 people had come in contact with hazardous materials

The condition of the injured is unclear.

The accident is now under investigation.

In a statement, Janssen Sciences Ireland said; “ Janssen Sciences Ireland can confirm that an incident occurred at approximately 17:15 at its facility in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. The safety of those working on our site is paramount. Three individuals were treated at the scene by Janssen First Responders. As per procedures, the emergency services were contacted.  Two of the individuals were subsequently taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) by ambulance. The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified of the incident.”
