Cork County Council's beach lifeguards have started their full-time summer schedule.
They are encouraging parents and guardians to adopt their new motto, Holding Hands Saves Lives.
The message is simple, that a young child should always hold an adults hand when near water.
The Beach Lifeguard service is now on duty 7 days a week until the end of August across 13 of the county's beaches.
