The website has helped voters make up their mind in the previous two elections.

86 Cork general election candidates have begun the final stretch of their campaign today.

The increased number of candidates has caused indecisiveness among voters, with the public being encouraged to decide who they want to give their number one to this Friday.

To help people make up their minds, a politics and public administration professor at the University of Limerick has created WhichCandiate.ie.

The website hopes to compare the 650 Dáil hopefuls in each constituency, to help the public find out who they agree with most based on a range of policy questions.

It also allows people to fill out a mock ballot paper ahead of polling day.

Creator of the online questionnaire, Dr. Rory Costello says "all answers are supplied by the candidates themselves or their parties, and the online questionnaire takes less than 10 minutes."

A recent survey done by the WhichCandidate team found that 36% of voters changed their minds and switched their first preference on the ballot, with that figure rising to 57% when the candidate that the user originally intended to vote for was ranked outside of the top five candidates in the results.
