A row broke out between a motorist and a pedestrian on Old Fort Road located behind the Castlewest Shopping Centre.
A pedestrian aged in his 70`s was taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests were made and the garda investigation is ongoing.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or motrorists with camera footage to contact Ballincollig Garda Station.
