There has been a call for a Garda hub to be established in the middle of Cork City centre.
The call comes following the death of a man on the Grand Parade in an incident last Wednesday evening.
A number of other incidents of concern have also been reported in recent months.
Cork City Councillor Mick Nugent believes the dis-used toilets on Grand Parade could be turned into a Garda hub.
