The Briery Gap Theatre Macroom is to benefit from €2.6 million in Government funding.
Cork North West TD and Minister for Agriculture Food & Marine, Michael Creed confirmed the details to Cork's 96FM & C103 News.
The re-development project is aimed at getting the theatre back to its former glory after it was previously destroyed by fire.
Deputy Creed said the announcement is more good news for Macroom.
