Gardai in Cork are advising the public to be safety conscious in the run in to Christmas.
In particular , they are urging people to be careful withdrawing money from cash machines.
They also say people should mind their belongings in crowded areas.
Do not leave bags or valuables exposed inside a parked car and lock the vehicle securely when leaving it unattended.
