Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision in North Cork last evening which claimed the lives of two elderly people... The man and woman , the driver and passenger in one car and both in their 70's were killed in a two car collision on the N20 Cork to Limerick Road outside Mallow .. The accident happened at about ten minutes past five last evening... The deceased have been named locally as Con and Mary McCarthy from Velvetstown near Buttevant ... A woman who was driving the second vehicle suffered non life threatening injuries in the collision ... Any witnesses are being asked to contact Gardaí in Mallow
