Cork County Council has confirmed that emergency road repairs are being carried out on the N71
It is after the surface was badly damaged by flooding when the area was hit last Thursday morning and again on Saturday morning.
Eastbound traffic is being diverted though the village while westbound traffic is unaffected.
Motorists are being advised to drive with caution in the area as many roads were damaged in the floods including the Rosscarbery to Glandore Road which remains closed from Roury Brigde.
Speaking to Cork's 96FM & C103 News local resident Denis O’Donovan says it is badly affected:
Please see the below in relation to the N71 in Rosscarbery:
Cork County Council is undertaking emergency road repairs on the N71 in Rosscarberry. Works will commence this morning and eastbound traffic shall be diverted through the village. Westbound traffic will be unaffected.
Motorists are reminded to drive with caution in the area, as many roads in West Cork have been damaged during the recent weather events.
