Candidates have a week's grace from election day.
Election candidates are being reminded that posters and cable ties must removed seven days after the election has taken place.
It's now four days since the polls and quite a few posters are still in place.
Any material not removed may be subject to a 150 euro on the spot fine in accordance with the Litter Pollution Act.
The Council can also charge candidates for any cost the local authority incurs while removing these posters.
