Ceremonies are being held to mark 100 years since the execution of some of the 1916 rebel leaders. The executions of Padraig Pearse, Thomas Clarke and Thomas MacDonagh will be commemorated at Kilmainham Gaol. The three rebels were executed on this day 100 years ago. Clonakilty Easter Commemoration Committee will mark the cenetenary of the executions with events starting this evening. Where streets are named after the leaders of the rising , simple rememberance ceremonies of about 15 minutes will be held in their honour. A ceremony is also planned at Asna Square where there are no streets named after executed leaders.
