Debenhams workers outside the Cork city store

Former Debenhams workers pickets have stopped the removal of stock from three stores in Tralee, Newbridge and Blackrock in Dublin.

Former staff in Cork and nationwide are blocking stock removals until they receive a decent redundancy offer.

The pickets this morning acted in defiance of a High Court injunction against blocking stock removals.

A number of people had their names taken by Gardai in Newbridge and now face the prospect of being summonsed to the High Court.

Cork North Central Solidarity TD Mick Barry has praised workers for their resilience
