
Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says 8,680 patients were waiting for a bed in Irish hospitals in May.
Cork University Hospital was the second most overcrowded hospital in the country during the month of May.
There were 898 patients on trolleys in May, down from 982 the previous month.
University Hospital Limerick had 1,823 patients waiting on a bed during May which is up from 1,735 in April.
Todays figure for the number of admitted patients waiting for a bed in Cork hospitals is 58.
There are 37 at CUH, 17 at the Mercy and 4 at Bantry General.
