Friendly Call is run by Cork City Partnership and sees volunteers make a daily call to people living alone.
It is one of 30 organisations taking part in the Community Response Forum co-ordinated by Cork City Council...
It ensures that vulnerable members of the community or those living alone can access vital grocery , medicine and fuel deliveries as well as social care supports.
The dedicated helpline number is 1800 222 226 and is available from 8am to 8pm.
