Demand for hampers in its outreach service now extends across east,north,south and west Cork.
The hamper runs are co-ordinated from the charity's headquarters at Little Hanover Street in Cork city.
More than 1,000 hampers are now being delivered every week to people across Cork.
Cork Penny Dinners co-ordinator Catriona Twomey told The Echo that because of the increase in the number of hampers being prepared there is extra pressure on the service.
Over 400 meals a day are being prepared at the Cork city headquarters and the need for the service has never been greater.
