A native of Grenagh, Donal is credited with being one of Ireland's foremost ambassadors of ceilí music.
A bereavement notice on RIP.ie says he will be sadly missed by Ceilí lovers throughout Ireland as well as followers in England and Scotland.
Donal's funeral mass will take place on Tuesday at 2.15pm in the Cathedral of St Mary and St Anne Cork.
