The 22 year old is a member of Killeagh GAA club.
The community of Killeagh in East Cork is gathering this evening to show support to native Shane Kearney who was injured last night while on active service in Lebanon.
Cork East Fianna Fail Deputy James O'Connor who knows Shane and his family says the community stands in solidarity with the family.
They are hugely involved in the local community and contribute daily to the entire area.
