Event will take place on November 22nd.

St Anne's Church, Shandon, home of the iconic Shandon Bells, today announced the launch of a special fundraising event, the 'Giving Thanks' Christmas Market. Scheduled for Friday, November 22nd, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the market will raise crucial funds dedicated to the conservation and preservation of the historic city landmark.

The 'Giving Thanks' market will feature high-quality gifts from Shandon area artists and makers. This ensures patrons can secure truly unique, locally-made Christmas gifts—from jewellery and ceramics—while directly funding the preservation of this historic landmark.

"St Anne’s Church is a cultural and historical anchor for Cork, and conservation is an ongoing, vital process," said Rev Maghan Farr, Priest in Charge, Shandon. "By focusing on our incredible local Shandon artists and makers, as well as others from across Cork, we hope to host a market that is not only a fantastic source of high-quality Christmas gifts but also a meaningful display of community support for our shared heritage."

The organisers of the market are overjoyed to announce that all vendor spaces have been filled. They received an enthusiastic response, with applications from talented artists, craftspeople, and makers pouring in from the Shandon area and across the wider Cork community. This strong commitment ensures the market will be a high-quality showcase of local creativity beneath the iconic Shandon Bells.
