Cautious welcome for construction of school campus in East Cork

Reaction is continuing after the Department of Educuation gave the go-ahead for the construction of a three-school campus in Carrigtwohill

It's being described as one of the biggest school projects in the history of the state and a hugely positive development for East Cork.

Carrigtwohill Community College has been given the green light to begin construction of a new 1,000 pupil post-primary school with immediate effect.

Scoil Chliodhna and Scoil Mhuire Naofa have been approved to provide a new 24 classroom primary school with a three class Special Needs Unit in each school.
