Currently, there is just one outgoing female TD in Cork.
With just days to go to the General Election, a campaign group is asking if Cork will elect more than one woman to the next Dáil.
Holly Cairns, leader of the Social Democrats, is the only outgoing female TD among the 18 elected in 2020 across the five Cork constituencies.
There were 16 female candidates last time out in Cork, and Women for Election says hopes are higher this year with two additional seats and 31 female candidates.
