Book of condolence for Pope Francis open at County Hall

A book of condolence has been opened at Cork County Hall following the death earlier this week of, Pope Francis.

The Pope's funeral will take place tomorrow morning at St Peter's Square in Vatican City, the same place where he made his final public appearance on Easter Sunday.

It is estimated that between 200,000 and 500,000 people are expected to attend, including 170 heads of state and presidential delegations.

The funeral service is expected to last about two-and-a-half hours and will be conducted mostly in Latin.

This morning Cork County Mayor, Cllr Joe Carroll along with Chief Executive Moira Murrell opened the book of condolences in the foyer at County Hall.
