Irish Water and Cork County Council have confirmed that a Boil Water Notice on Whiddy Island remains in place.
A significant amount of improvement works have been carried out but additional works are still needed aimed at lifting the notice.
A previously drilled borehole is being assessed to see if it can be used as an alternative water supply for the island.
In the meantime works will continue to rectify problems at the Whiddy Island Treatment Plant.
