Bantry Defibrillation Group is urging people to contact gardaí if they have any information regarding how a defibrillator in the town was damaged.

Last week, the group announced that the cabinet outside the former SuperValu on New Street had been damaged.

The unit is now out of commission.

In a post on social media, the group said the matter had been reported to local gardaí.

They are urging people who may have noticed anything to contact gardaí.
