The man was found near Clonakilty at around 10.30am Wednesday morning.
At around 10:30am yesterday morning, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a man in his 40s was found unresponsive with unexplained injuries on Inchydoney Road, on the outskirts of Clonakilty town.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment, where his condition is understood to be critical.
Investigating Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
They are particularly interested in dashcam or mobile phone footage from the Youghal area of Inchydoney Road between Friday, 22nd November, and Wednesday morning, 27th November, 2024.
