Cork's charity-funded air ambulance service says it's firmly staying put in the county.

It's moved to clear confusion over reports it's transferring services to Roscommon, while staffing issues force the Defence Forces to stand down for a number of days between now and February.

In a statement, the Irish Community Rapid Response confirmed that it's service in Rathcoole will continue to operate on a full-time basis.

A second aircraft will also operate four days a month from Roscommon to support continuity of the service there during training days, it added.
