Port of Cork has welcomed CLdN`s announcement of a second weekly cargo call.

This is due to increasing demand and a quicker turnaround bypassing the UK landbridge and avoiding border checks.

It will ensure that cargo flows more effectively and in a cost-efficient manor from Ireland direct to the continent.

The Cork to Zeebrugge Ro-Con service which began in May has proved very popular and a second service will offer more flexibility.

Port of Cork Chief Commercial Officer Conor Mowlds says it is another significant announcement for Cork.
