Corpses, clergy and dentures provide Coachford Players with the basis of their hilarious comedy 'Wake in the West' by Michael J Ginnelly which they will perform in Coachford GAA Hall on Saturday, April 12th, Sunday April 13th, Monday April 14tth and Tuesday April 15th at 8pm each night. This fantastically funny play is set in an Irish coastal village. When Tom Healy passes away, his last wish—to be cremated and have his ashes scattered at sea—sends his family and neighbours into a whirlwind of chaos. As they struggle to honour his request, the wake takes unexpected and hilariously absurd turns, involving misplaced dentures, flying insults, marital bickering and some truly unconventional problem-solving. Packed with quick wit and unforgettable characters, this play is a heartwarming and side-splitting celebration of an Irish wake featuring dodgy neighbours, a conservative priest, a returned yank and a rekindled romance. The group are also bringing their production to the Briery Gap Theatre, Macroom on April 26th.
